Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0594-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Steven M. Cardey. The project will repair a residence driveway that was damaged during a landslide in February 2017, and will realign the driveway to avoid the landslide area. Additionally, approximately 0.45 acres of the landslide area will be graded to direct storm water sheet flow into Browns Valley Creek, and to prevent pooling of water that will add weight to the landslide area. In this area, tree stumps and four mature native trees will also need to be removed (two California bay trees and two coast live oak trees). The project will replant California bay ad coast live oak trees, as well as native grasses to restore the site. The storm water runoff system for the parcel will also be improved as part of the project. Three culverts in the existing upper driveway portion of the project site will be removed and pervious rock-lined drainage swales will be constructed paralleling the new driveway. A storm water sedimentation basin will be installed at the upper portion of the driveway, and an existing 24-inch diameter culvert that discharges water into Browns Valley Creek will be extended downslope with rock rip rap installed at the culvert outfall to prevent erosion. Rock rip rap will also be placed at the outfall of an existing 12-inch diameter culvert that discharges into Browns Valley Creek.
