Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0113-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Treasury Wine Estates Americas Company.
The project includes using bioengineering to reinforce approximately 80 linear feet of an actively eroding streambank. Rock boulders will be keyed in at the toe of the bank and vegetated soil wrapped lifts will be constructed at a 2:1 slope up to the new top of bank. The new streambank will be replanted with native plants. Two willow trees will need to be removed from the stream channel and will be tied into the bank (with rootwads attached) at the upstream and downstream ends of the project to provide bank protection from high flows. Additionally, the project will need to remove approximately 50 cubic yards of gravel from a gravel bar in the center of the channel, which is forcing flows into the eroding streambank. Lastly approximately 200 square feet of Himalayan blackberry will be removed from the channel.
