The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed a Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0116-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game code to the South Yuba Citizens League. The restoration project in Deer Meadow consists of 1) plugging and stabilize ditches and gullies and 2) removal and replacement of two culverts with rock crossings. The proposed project would restore natural meadow hydrologic regimes in order to improve wetland and meadow function. Specifically, the project will improve water infiltration and stop continued dewatering by ditches, subsequently improving and sustaining dry to mesic meadow habitat in approximately 13 acres of Deer Meadow.
