Document Description
Filing of Notice of Determination pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21108. The TWL transmission line will span the Colorado River about 4.8 miles south of I-10 and 0.5 miles south of 22nd Avenue, and traverse about 10.5 miles of cultivated fields in the Palo Verde Valley parallel to the existing DPV 500 kV transmission line. Transmission towers will be located in agricultural fields and access will be from existing roads and through those fields west of that developed area. The line, continuing to parallel three other existing transmission lines, will turn northeast for 3.6 miles along the eastern edge of Palo Verde Mesa and then continue west for 6.6 miles across that mesa to the Colorado River Substation. West of the developed agricultural fields, the TWL transmission line will cross about 11.1 miles of generally undeveloped land on Palo Verde Mesa. The line then will cross Palo Verde Mesa to the west before turning southwest to the CRS. The westernmost approximately 5 miles of the TWL transmission line route crosses sand dunes located around and to the north of the CRS.
