Document Description
The purpose of the proposed project is to dredge beach-compatible sand from an offshore borrow site for placement on Surfside-Sunset Beach to nourish the beach and act as a feeder for downcoast beaches. The State Lands Commission action is an approval of a 49-year General Lease – Public Agency Use to the Applicant through June 5, 2072, to dredge approximately 1,750,000 cubic yards of sand from the Pacific Ocean from an offshore borrow site; place compatible dredged beach fill along a 4,500-foot-long stretch of shoreline in the City of Seal Beach; and excavate 100,000 cubic yards of sand from a borrow site on Newport Beach and place down shore.
