- Document Description
- The proposed project is to remove 60 trees in three phases. The trees are located on a developed parcel in the Kensington area of unincorporated Contra Costa County. 23 additional trees have been removed since the application submittal. On March 28, 2017, the county granted a request for the immediate removal of 14 of these trees after verifying the immediate danger to life and property. The other nine trees were located in the city of El Cerrito, where the county does not have jurisdiction. However, the removal of all 23 trees is considered in this IS as part of the aggregate environmental impact from the removal of 83 trees. All 83 of the trees are Monterey Pines. The Monterey Pines are being removed to remedy hazardous and dangerous conditions that threaten the safety of structures and human life on the site.
