Document Description
The project consists of removing several eucalyptus trees that were burned during a fire that occurred on the BMK Unit V property in late July 2018. An arborist will cut the burned trees down to ground level. Smaller trees will be mulched and larger trees cut into logs. The logs and mulch will be left on site.

Reasons for Exemption
Removal of fire damaged eucalyptus trees is a minor alteration of land that is necessary to protect public safety. One tree to be removed is mature but badly damaged due to the dire and is therefore not considered healthy. Eucalyptus trees are non native and generally not considered scenic. The trees will be removed outside of the nesting season for birds.
