Document Description
The Company proposes to install a granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment system to remove 1, 2, 3 - trichloropropane (TCP) from water extracted from an existing groundwater well (Margarita Well 2). The project site consists of the existing Margarita Well 2 (drilled in 2015), the existing Margarita tank (built in 1955), four existing booster pumps, and an existing approximately 180,000- gallon retention pond. The proposed Project will be contained on existing Company property where the existing facilities are located. Water pumped from Margarita Well 2 has a TCP concentration of approximately 5.6 ng/L which exceeds the maximum contaminant level of 5 ng/l. TCP treatment for the existing Margarita Well 2 (850 gallon per minute capacity) is required for the delivery of potable water from the well to the distribution system. Installing treatment will allow the use of Margarita Well 2 to provide potable water to existing customers.
