South Bay Aqueduct Mowing: Multiple Locations
NOE - Notice of Exemption
DFD staff will perform maintenance along the South Bay Aqueduct (SBA) pipeline easement. A skid steer with mower head attachment, an industrial mower, and weed whackers will be used to mow the complete easement along the following SBA mile markers: Bayside, MM 33.83 and MM 34.23. Mowed area will be: Bayside 0.20 acres, MM 33.83 0.29 acres, and MM 34.23 0.03 acres, for a total of .52 acres. DFD staff will utilize a water truck or spray tank as fire control. Staging of equipment will be on the department right-of-way or at the Patterson yard in Livermore, depending on the work location. All work will be within DWR right-ofway.
The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves minor repairs to the existing appurtenant structures. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any significant environmental impacts.
