- Within and immediately adjacent to existing wastewater treatment processes, mechanical equipment, piping, instruments, biomedia, and conduit will be installed. New mechanical equipment (air blowers and compressors) will replace existing air equipment, resulting in increased energy efficiency. Piping and conduits will be installed within and adjacent to existing processes to improve delivery of air to existing processes. Biomedia will be installed within an existing basin. Instruments will be installed within existing processes to better monitor dissolved oxygen, suspended solids, and other parameters. The purpose of the project is to reduce energy consumption, with no change in quantity or quality of Plant's influent or effluent. The beneficiaries of the project are the City of Simi Valley and all customers served by the City's water quality control plant.
