Document Description
This facility serves the community in a number of aquatic capacities; swim lessons, swim team and public and family swim and rentals; however, the main pool was originally constructed in the early 1960's and although the pools were resurfaced approximately ten years ago there are a number of structural problems which cause safety hazards and operational inefficiencies. Primary among these issues include the following. The diving pool has been empty for several years because of the leaks and is fenced off. The existing lap and training pool also leak considerably and water must be constantly added. Several deck drains do not work and ramps on either side of the pool present safety and code compliance issues. The lifeguard stand for the lap pool does not meet OSHA standards, and lap pool bleachers have bolts protruding above the bleacher seats that present a safety hazard and are not code compliant.
