Document Description
California Resources Elk Hills, LLC (CREH) proposes to install two 6/57 mile electrical power lines (one 115kv and one 12kv power line) and one fiber optics communication cable from Sec 8D, T31S, R23E to Sec 7H, T32S, R23E located in Kern County, CA; refer to site map. The proposed power line will utilize the same power poles. CREH also proposes to add a new electrical substation in 7H. The proposed electrical power lines, communications cable, and proposed new 7H substation are required to support new drills, as well as workover and maintenance of existing production and injection wells in the oilfields.
The proposed route will cross federal and private lands (zoned as both Tier 1 and Tier 2 lands) located in the Buena Vista Hills and Nose Oilfields. Estimated new permanent and temporary disturbance on private lands will total 2.326 acres of which 0.487 acres of permanent disturbance and 1.839 acres of temporary disturbance is estimated to occur. CREH has attached a project description detailing project activities.
