Document Description
WWD requests encroachment permission from DWR to repair a steel-lined concrete pipe in DWR's right-of-way. An approx. 25-foot long by 25 foot wide by 11 foot deep area will be excavated to locate the damaged section of pipeline. Once the pipe is located, the concrete will be peeled back to expose the steel. If the leak is caused by a puncture in the steel, the puncture will be welded; if a joint is leaking, the joint will be cut out and replaced by welding in a band. The outside of the pipe will then be wrapped in plastic and will be resealed. Once repairs are complete, the excavated area will be backfilled and compacted and the original topography of the site will be restored. WWD will benefit.
