Document Description
The scope of work includes installation of a new approx. 1,300 sq. ft. walk-in freezer capable of storing pallets of frozen food items. The new freezer will be placed on a newly constructed, thermally insulated, dual-layered concrete pad, including a new concrete delivery area and improved concrete pathway leading to the Central Kitchen to facilitate moving food to the kitchen by pallet jack and forklift. The refrigeration for the freezer will consist of two independent, 22 horsepower compressors. The walk-in freezer will facilitate a more cost-effective way for food services to operate at PBSP. The project will be constructed in compliance with all State and local codes, and will be completed within CDCR's Design Criteria Guidelines.
