County of Lake Watershed Protection District proposes geotechnical exploration to support a feasibility study in the Middle Creek Flood Control Project. The feasibility study will, in part, evaluate sedimentation and interior drainage issues to develop a plan for providing up to 100-year protection to the community of Upper Lake.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 6 - information collection. Following the document review and consultation, geotechnical exploration will consist of soil borings, cone penetrometer tests, and lab testing for characterization of the embankment and foundation soils. Borings and CPTs will be grouted upon completion. The info collection will not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. There will be no destruction of sensitive species or habitat. The project will not have a significant effect on the environment.
