Document Description
The project will replace the failing road surface asphalt in portions of Borrego Palm Canyon Campground. Phase 1 starts at the Kiosk and ends at the entrance road into the maintenance yard. Phase 2 starts at the entrance of the maintenance yard and ends at the "Y" split entering the campground upper loop. (Phase 3 will not take place at this time). The project consists of grinding approx 94,525 sf of the existing asphalt 2" to 4" deep. The ground asphalt will be fine graded and compacted for reuse as sub-base for the new asphalt. The grinding process will not exceed 1" in depth of ground disturbance beneath the existing asphalt. Possible tree roots encountered will be left in place to the extent possible.
