Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption

Reasons for Exemption
The building and the science laboratory rooms would be used part time by students assigned to other classrooms, therefore, they do not increase school's capacity. Because the project would not increase the capacity or enrollment at the school, it would not increase operational traffic on or around the campus. The project would not alter the use of the property as a school. The project involves construction of a new two story school building on the Aliso Niguel High School Campus. The new building is a minor addition to the 44.16- acre high school, is within the existing school grounds, and would not result in an increase in student capacity. Therefore, the project proposed meets the criteria for an exemption under CEQA Guidelines 15314.
