Document Description
This project will increase the Oso Flaco Lake picnic area in order to accomodate larger groups and make it ADA compliant. The location of the proposed expansion is just south of the vaulted restroom towards the west end of the boardwalk, approximately 400 meters east of the ocean. The current picnic area has two non-ADA compliant picnic tables, the new area will have four ADA compliant picnic tables in a fotprint that would accomodate approximately 35 people. The footprint of the proposed area will be 36.5 x 22 feet, which will be the same composite material as what is currently in place. 10-20 feet of grading may need to be done in order to account for sand slump There will be minimal plant removal, including pre-activity surveys for listed plant and animal species. The project area is not in a location where listed plant and animals are expected to be found.
