The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0235-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, City of Newport Beach as represented by Robert Stein. The project proposes remove and replace existing invasive exotic vegetation, stabilize the creek banks and restore connectivity with the floodplain, restore riparian habitat and create a mosaic of native and resilient habitats that promote biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, and enhance public access and education with improved trails and closure of illegal trails.
