EMWD is in the process of implementing its Solar Photovoltaic Renewable Energy Initiative Project. The project is being implemented in phases.
Phase I included the installation of a 0.5 MW solar array and appurtenances at EMWD's Administrative Campus at 2270 Trumble Road in Perris, CA. This facility became operational in 2014.
Phase II included the installation of 1.0 MW solar arrays and appurtenances at each of EMWD's Regional Water Reclamation Facilities. That is: Moreno Valley RWRF, Perris Valley RWRF, San Jacinto Valley RWRF, Sun City RWRF, and Temecula Valley RWRF.
The Phase II facilities became operational in 2016.
Now, EMWD is advancing the implementation of Phase III of the Solar Pv Renewable Energy Initiative. Phase III will include the installation of solar arrays (single axis tracking) and appurtenances at the following locations: Moreno Valley RWRF, 2,500 MW, CEC-AC; Perris Valley RWRF, 3,177 MW, CEC-AC; San Jacinto Valley RWRF, 2,000 MW, CEC-AC; San Jacinto Valley RWRF North Renewable Energy Self-generating - Bill Credit Transfer (RES-BCT Project), 5,000 MW, CEC-AC, and Sun City RWRF, 2,000 MW, CEC-AC.
