Document Description
The City of Shafter is installing the necessary mechanical and electrical improvements to enable water from existing Municipal Well No. 11 and Municipal Well No. 17 to be treated for the removal of 1,2,3-trichloropropane ("TCP") at a joint treatment facility equipped with new carbon treatment vessels on Municipal Well Site No. 11. The entire treatment facility will be installed on Well Site No. 11 at the south end of Rodriguez Park, west of S. Wall Street and north of W. Los Angeles Avenue. Municipal Well No. 17, located at Veterans Park, west of S. Schnaidt Street and north of W. Los Angeles Avenue, will have its water piped directly to the joint treatment facility on Well Site No. 11. The pipeline that directs water pumped from Well Site No. 17 to Well Site No. 11 was previously constructed within W. Los Angeles Avenue public right of way by the City of Shafter.
