Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2018-0399-R1, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to Mr. Gary Black, Contractor. The project is limited to replacement of a diesel operated pump and non-self cleaning cylinder fish screen with an electric pump and a self cleaning cylinder fish screen that allows for volitional fish passage and mets NOAA/CDFW Fish Screening Criteria. All work will be conducted from the bank and equipment will not be operated in the active or wetted channel. Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is to replace the pump and fish screen to meet NOAA/CDFW Fish Screening Criteria for the same purpose and capacity, and eliminate hazardous material in close proximity to the diversion structure. Work will occur at lowest stream flows, at temperatures higher than 24 degrees celsius, avoiding adverse effects to sensitive species, and from the bank of the Shasta River. In addition, work will not result in removal of mature trees or riparian vegetation.
