Document Description
Proposed paleoflood investigations within the Carbon Canyon area of Chino Hills State Park include limited manual excavations during two separate time periods in (a) summer 2018, and (b) early fall 2018. Phase 1 would investigate as many as 13 sites that appear to be outside areas of possible environmental concern, and are proposed to be investigation in conjunction with a qualified USACE environmental monitor in summer 2018. Phase 2, if needed, would investigate as many as 7 sites identified within areas of possible environmental concern, and are proposed to be investigated in conjunction with a qualified USACE environmental monitor in late September or October 2018. DPR-approved standard project requirements have been incorporated into this project. A copy of these requirements may be obtained by submitting a request to the project Environmental Coordinator listed below.

If the project is implemented as indicated within the CDPR Project Evaluation Form including measures provided by CDPR staff, then it is exempt under the CDPR list of Exempt Activities according to CEQA S15300.4 as: Class 6, Section 15306 -Information Collection - Soils and structural engineering tests. - Baseline monitoring.
