- Document Description
- Reclamation District (RD) 1000, in cooperation with Natomas Central Mutual Water Company (NCMWC), proposes to install a SCADA system to monitor water level sensors and pump runtime meters at RD 1000 pump stations in an effort to improve drain water management and tailwater recovery during the irrigation season. The SCADA Integration Project includes nine proposed SCADA towers. In addition to implementation of RD 1000's SCADA system, the project will integrate RD 1000's system with NCMWC's SCADA system to provide real-time drain water management. NCMWC has a joint use agreement with RD 1000 to operate the drainage canals during the irrigation season to facilitate tailwater recovery. Improving real-time drain water management would increase NCMWC's tailwater recovery system efficiency, which would result in a reduction of water diverted from the Sacramento River, potentially reducing the amount of drain water to be pumped out of the system prior to flood season. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2018 and will last approx. 5 months, with completion anticipated by Sept. 2018.
