Document Description
The 7.26 acre project site is located at 635 North Santa Rosa St in San Luis Obispo, CA. The CAL FIRE SLO-RUH Replacement project proposes the demolition of approx 23,000 sf of existing buildings and associated facilities in order to allow for the construction of new site improvements consisting of a max of approx 39,040 sf of new buildings, including a new admin building, barracks/apparatus building, physical training building, auto shop building, and generator building. The project also proposes new paving for roads and parking, retaining walls, water distribution systems, waste water collection and disposal systems, drainage systems, and erosion control measures. The existing approx 800 ft driveway traversing the southern boundary of the project site, is proposed to be widened from its current width of approx 30 ft to 40 ft. The driveway would be extended to the west approx 50 ft before curving north for an additional 245 ft and ending at the northern boundary of the site. Additional off-site work will be required at the site entrance from hwy 1 and within the Caltrans ROW including the driveway approach and installation of multiple emergency beacons. An offsite sanitary sewer manhole would be replaced to the south of the project site.
