- Document Description
- The project is located in unincorporated eastern Riverside County, between the existing Devers Substation and the existing Colorado River Substation. The project is within Southern California Edison's existing ROW for the Devers-Palo Verde No. 1 500 kv transmission line that extends from the Devers Substation east to the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Arizona Segment 1 includes reconductoring of approx 80 mi of existing line and replacement of hardware on 281 existing structures (between the Devers Substation and Red Bluff Substation). Segment 2 includes reconductoring of approx 31 mi of existing line and replacement of hardware on 93 existing structures (between the Colorado River Substation and the Red Bluff Substation). All work includes temporary ground disturbance to replace new hardware and lines on existing towers, with no new permanent disturbance or proposed new permanent structures. As proposed, the project would correct phase-to-ground discrepancies and would not involve an increase in the capacity. In addition, infrastructure such as fiber-optic cable would not be installed or collocated with replacement conductor.
