Document Description
The overall project is the construction of a commercial wind energy farm on 5,618 acres of land. Project activities include improvements to existing roads, the construction of new access roads, wind turbine pads, a laydown yard, and a water well. The project will result in a total of 2.13 acres of permanent impacts to streams vegetated with 0.60 acres of annual brome grassland, 1.21 acres of arroyo willow thickets, 0.01 acres of blue elderberry stands, 0.06 acres of California sagebrush scrub, 0.13 acres of creeping ryegrass tufts, and 0.12 acre of unvegetated stream channel.

The Project site is located in the city of Lompoc in an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County. The Project site is bounded by Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) on the south and west sides and private property on the north and east sides (Figure 1 below). The Project area lies within the Tranquillon Mountain, Lompoc Hills, and Lompoc U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute quadrangles at latitude 34° 34’ 59” N and longitude 120° 30’ 55” W.
