Strauss Wind, LLC (applicant) is proposing to develop, construct, and operate a utility-scale wind energy project that would produce up to 102 megawatts of electric power on approx. 3,084 acres of rural agriculturally zoned land, southwest of the City of Lompoc. The Strauss Wind Energy Project is broadly similar to the Lompoc Wind Energy Project, which was proposed at the same site and approved by the County in 2009. However, the LWEP was never built and subsequently sold to the applicant.
