Document Description
The City is rehabilitating an existing municipal water supply well (Well No. 8 located at 1690 Palmer Drive) as well as the existing granular activated carbon tanks to treat 1,2,3,-Trichloropropane which has been found through testing of water. These tanks were originally installed in 1994 to treat Ethylene Dibromide and were inactivated after the contamination was effectively treated and was no longer detected in the groundwater. Well No. 8 exceeds the maximum contaminant level for in 1,2,3,-Trichlorpropane by a factor of 10. The City proposes to reactivate the tanks in an effort to bring this water supply back online.
