Document Description
Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the Dennett Dam Removal project submitted by the Tuolumne River Trust. The project includes activities related to the removal of Dennett Dam from the Tuolumne River. Dam components and related debris will be demolished while river flow is diverted around the site through an existing overflow channel in the flood plain of the river. After dam removal, the river channel will be graded, including cut and fill of material to control the discharge of accumulated sediments downstream. The banks of the river will be re-vegetated witha native seed mix and planting afyer re-contouring the site. Topographical/bathymetric surveys of the riverbed will be conducted for three years following construction.
