Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control, pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Section 66270.61, has issued an Emergency Permit to the Medical Chemical Corp., (EPA ID# CAL000190183), to treat hazardous waste through a conrolled reaction with a chemical solution. The hazardous waste to be treated consists of following items: Diethyl Ether - 2 Peroxide Forming Material The chemicals are expired and are currently stored at medical Chemical Corporation located at 19430 Van Ness Ave, Torrance, CA 90501. DTSC has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or severe injury, an Emergency Permit should be issued to stabilize the chemicals prior to transportation off-site by Clean Harbors Environmental Services. The treatment of the hazardous wastes involves the addition of solution to the containers in a controlled manner to reduce the reactive or ignitable characteristics of the chemical . The emergency permit is effective beginning June 18, 2018 and shall expire August 17, 2018.
