Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has issued Incidental Take Permit No. 2081-2017-060-04, pursuant to Section 2081 subdivision (b) of the Fish and Game Code to Pacific gas and Electric Company to incidentally take California tiger salamander which is listed as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act. The project includes hydrostatic testing of three segments Gas Line 301A (L-301A) and replacement of a 970 foot section of L-301A. The hydrotesting will require multiple excavations ranging in size from 4 foot by 6 foot up to 8 foot by 60 foot along 402 feet of L-301A to isolate the pipeline from taps and other appurtenances, check for the presence of natural gas to ensure that there is none in the pipeline while work is occurring and to provide high point vents to ensure all air is removed from the pipeline as it is filled with water. Test heads will provide access to the inside of the pipeline to allow running a pipeline inspection gauge "pig" through the line and to fill and empty the line of cleaning solution and water before and after the hydrotest.
