Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has issued Restoration
Management Permit Number RMP-2022-0007-R2 pursuant to section 2081(a) of the Fish and Game Code to the project Permittee, United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Project is designed to provide reliable screened water access for the Refuge’s wetlands by installing a lift station with screened intakes and supporting infrastructure. The Project is expected to improv seasonal and semi-permanent wetland management capabilities for the Refuge by providing reliable access to water supplies, benefiting Giant garter snake (Thamnophis gigas, Covered Species) and other wetland species. The Project is estimated to take fewer than five (5) individuals of the Covered Species in the form of catch, capture and relocation; though unlikely, the Project may result in take in the form of mortality. Permittee is authorized to relocate the Covered Species out of harm’s way. CDFW has determined and expects that the Project will benefit, aid in the conservation of, and assist in the recovery of the Covered Species.
