Document Description
The proposed project would renew the exterior of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) Nimitz Marine Facility MarFac building 1 is located in Point Loma. Scope of work would include repairs and/or restoration of exterior wood trim, wood framed exterior window assemblies, overhanging roof trellis, and brise soleil shade structure. Scope of work would also include repair of the existing roofing, which interfaces with the trellis and window assemblies. The exterior has been damaged by sun and sea air exposure over the course of time, and has caused deterioration in the exterior wood features, as well as some water intrusion into the interior.
