Document Description
The purpose of this project is to develop and demonstrate a low-cost, quick response, small footprint, and highly flexible thermal energy storage technology for integration with traditional combined cooling, heating, and power systems. The thermal energy storage system aims to decouple electricity generation from building heating and cooling with a minimal increase in total system cost. This project will also install an absorption chiller, a device capable of converting heat into cooling energy via an absorption cycle. Both systems will be integrated with existing microturbine generators at the host site to capture, store and convert the waste heat into cooling energy.
