Document Description
Sweetwater Authority, with support from the city of San Diego, wishes to apply to DWR to modify the basin boundary to exclude the salt ponds. In the course of revising the boundaries to exclude the salt ponds, Sweetwater Authority and the city of San Diego also propose to shift the Silver Strand delineation point southward to align with the municipal boundaries of the city of Imperial Beach and to exclude a small area of the city of Coronado included in the original boundary. The groundwater in this small area of Coronado is most likely influenced by seawater intrusion b/c the Pacific Ocean is adjacent to the west and the San Diego Bay is adjacent to the east. The proposed BBM will facilitate basin governance and the proposed revised boundary for the CPSD Groundwater Basin will be the basis for future work regarding the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
