Document Description
The project proposes to remove aggraded stream channel sediment from Morrison Creek. This is a short-term solution to alleviate the frequent flooding that occurs on adjacent properties due to an undersized and ill-designed under Fred Haight Drive, which is exceeded by a 2-year event. The project scope will be 500 feet upstream and downstream of the Fred Haight were crossing. Depths of sediment between 2 and 4 feet will be removed from the stream channel. The worst aggraded areas were identified in a hydrologic analysis and most are within 100 feet of the crossing. Total sediment removal volume is expected to be less than 1,000 cubic yards. Gravel will be hauled to upland areas and stored for use on private roads and other agricultural areas. No fill will be placed in wetlands or riparian areas. The stream channel will only be accessed when the stream is not flowing.
