The NVUSD is proposing to develop the site with an ES campus on the western 10 acres of the site. The proposed school would consist of 11 one-story buildings, outdoor recreation facilities, and parking, with a capacity for 616 students. The school facilities would include 7 classroom buildings plus 2 free-standing pre-school classrooms and 1 free-standing STEM classroom and storage room. The proposed school would provide a total of 18 classrooms, an administration and library building, cafeteria/multi-purpose building, and 2 buildings housing a Family Resource Center, Resource Specialist Program, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten Academy, and Special Day Class programs. The buildings would range in size from 1,350 sf to 7,920 sf, and would have a combined building area of 45,080 sf. Space has been allocated to possibly add two additional classrooms in the future. Parking lots would extend along much of the southern and western sides of the project site, providing parking for approx. 90 vehicles. A dedicated bus drop-off lane would extend along the west side of the developed campus area. Landscaped bioretention facilities would extend along much of the site frontages on Eucalyptus Dr and Commerce Blvd, adjacent to the parking lots. These bioretention facilities would provide natural on-site treatment of the stormwater runoff from the site. The outdoor sports facilities would include five asphalt basketball courts, four turf soccer fields, two softball fields, ten Four-Square playing courts, three tetherball courts, and other play areas. There would also be an outdoor lunch shelter adjacent to the cafeteria/multi-purpose building.
