President McKinley Statue Removal from the Arcata Plaza Historic District
EIR - Draft EIR
Present Land Use
The proposed project is the removal and storage of the statue of President William McKinley, which has stood at the center of the Arcata Plaza since 1906. The project will also remove the statue base, the wall and landscape area around the statue, and any elements that are currently buried by the landscaping but support the statue. The project will also amend the City of Arcata General Plan, which recognizes the statue as a feature to be preserved in the Plaza Historic District.
