Document Description
The proposed project is a restoration plan and implementation of one segment for a 2.9-mile span of Deep Creek in order to mitigate the damage of flooding along the creek within the city of Farmersville. The project area includes the portion of Deep Creek between Walnut Ave in the northeast and the city's wastewater treatment facility to the south. The project will assess the conditions and specific restoration needs of the creek channel, develop detailed restoration plans for priority segments, and conduct educational outreach to "Keep Our Creeks Clean." Restoration will occur in three phases, to include sediment removal, grading, bank stabilization, and removal of trash and invasive plants, to allow for improved water flow. The project is being funded by a grant from DWR, Urban Resources, Urban Streams Restoration Program.
