Under GFO-15-606, Community-Scale Advanced Biofuels Production Facilities by the CA Energy Commission, CA Bioenergy LLC (CalBio) received a proposed award $3,050,000 for the "Kern Dairy Cluster Biomethane Upgrading Facility" Project in a Notice of Proposed Awards (NOPA) dated February 17, 2017 to design, build and operate a biomethane facility within a dairy cluster in Kern County. The project is expected to produce 500,000 diesel gallon equivalents (DGE)/year of biomethane to fuel heavy-duty compressed natural gas vehicles.
