Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0155-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Los Angeles County Department of Probation.
The project includes work within and adjacent to the debris basin receiving tributary flows upslope from Campus Kilpatrick juvenile rehabilitation center. In order to protect the facility and detain the designed amount of debris flow the basin will need to be returned to original design capacity. The project involves a one-time removal of approximately 2,000 cubic yards (cy) of sediment that has accumulated and replacement of the existing 42 inch diameter stand pipe, and thereafter sediment removal will occur on an annual basis to ensure that 100 percent of the sediment capturing capacity of the basin is maintained prior to the beginning of each rainy season.
