Document Description
Caltrans performed an emergency contract to repair damages due to heavy rains and flash flood flows which caused a shoulder slip-out along SR 140 at PM 4.0, in Mariposa County. The scope of work included removing and replacing failed the slope by keying in and armoring the slope with rock slope protection; grinding out asphalt to the centerline of the road and replacing with HMA Type A; vegetation removal; and providing traffic controls. The purpose of the project was to repair the failed state route; and the need of the project was to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
