Project activities will extend the useful life of this rail crossing and aid against future damage by flash flood waters. The proposed project involves the replacement and reconstruction of existing bridge support structures that occupy the northbound railway. Project activities will include use of heavy equipment for removal of existing bridge material and the replacement of bridge piles with fewer than currently existing on site. About half of the existing wooden bridges piles will be replaced with steel H piles on the northbound track in their original location.
