Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed a Restoration and Enhancement Act Project (No. 1652-2018-020-001-R2) to Trout Unlimited pursuant to section 1652 of Fish and Game Code.
The project will utilize existing, unconsolidated rocks to construct four cross vanes to enhance the power and efficacy of these features, resulting in deeper, more oxygenated habitats in the Truckee River that currently lack habitat complexity. The Project will not add any additional fill to the river, and instead relocates unconsolidated existing rocks to construct the four cross vanes. These vanes are already naturally forming at the Project locations and the proposed work will fill in gaps of existing vanes to enhance power and efficacy to these features, resulting in deeper, more oxygenated habitats in this section of the Truckee River that currently lacks habitat complexity.
