Document Description
The proposed work is located on the UC and private lands in Yuba County. YCWA would place LWM pieces in the Yuba River downstream of Englebright Dam at 3 locations: 1) at RM 20.3 near the UC's Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center; 2) at about RM 20.0; and 3) at RM 18.1 near the hwy 20 bridge crossing. YCWA would acquire LWM from local sources and have them trucked to the sites. YCWA will place each piece downstream facing at approx a 45- degree angle to the stream bank with approx one-half of the LWM piece buried in the bank with the root wad exposed. The backhoe, located on dry ground, will be used to excavate the bank where the LWM piece will be placed. The excavated fill will be placed over the LWM piece. The proposed work would also include monitoring pre and post the placement of LWM.
