Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Would provide funding for the Lassen Volcanic National Park North Fork Feather River Headwaters Fire Management Project, which is a landscape-scale project restoring low to moderate severity fire regimes to the wilderness headwaters of the North Fork of the Feather River. The Lassen National Park and the Sierra Nevada Institute for Community and Environment would implement fuel reduction strategies in three areas of Lassen NP around park infrastructure, inholdings, and along existing roads and trails in strategic locations across the headwaters. The proposed fuels reduction would reduce fuel accumulation, reduce the risk of high intensity wildfire, and restore a diverse forest composition and structure over multiple years.
