Document Description
The project would implement mechanical forest management activities on approx 151 acres within the Tahoe Conservancy's 263-acre project area. These activities are for the purpose of reducing the risk of high-intensity wildfires, reducing susceptibility of the forest to insect and disease outbreaks, improving age and species diversity of the trees, and utilizing the forest biomass for renewable energy production. Some methods would include removing all marked trees and thin unmarked trees to 10 to 30 ft spacing, removing infestation of parasites, and taking chip biomass to bioenergy.
