Document Description
CDFW has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2018-148-R4, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Caltrans. Project involves advancing three 100-foot deep geotechnical borings through the northbound lanes of SR 1 roadway at and near where it crosses over Toro Creek. One will be bored through the roadway and bridge deck into the creek bed, and other two will be bored through the roadway into the soils just outside the creek approaching the bridge from both directions. All three borings will be advanced using a truck-mounted drill rig employing the punch-core rotary wash drilling method. Soils data will be collected from the three borings for use evaluating the density, strength, and liquefaction potential of the underlying soils. The soils data will inform the design of a planned replacement bridge.
