Document Description
In 2016 the Claifornia Legislature granted the Santa Barbara Unified School District an option to purchase the Santa Barbara Armory, consisting of 4.7 acres of real property and improvements strategically located between Santa Barbara High School and Santa Barbara Junior High. On October 23, 2018, the school board approved acquisition of the Armory. Initial use of the property will be limited to vehicle parking and storage. There is no substantial evidence that the acqusition and the interim use of the Santa Barbara Armory will have a significant effect on the environment. Any future planning and redevelopment of the property will be accompanied by a comprehensive CEQA review.
